There are various types of gypsum available, that is pure mineral gypsum,chemical gypsum,marine gypsum,flue gas gypsum,etc,mineral gypsum is available from mines,where as chemical gypsum is a by product of chemical wastages,obtained from chemical plants, For for building plastering ,pure mineral gypsum of high purity, should be used, as it is 100% free from any chemical impurities,and other inorganic materials, due to this the plaster has a good life,enhances better bonding, coverage,free from cracks,free from iching,does not have any adverse effect on hands.The other imp thing is no risk of reaction on gypsum,where costly painted is applied.
Chemical gypsum, such as phospho gypsum is a chemical waste obtained from chemical waste obtained from chemical palnts, which produces phosphoric acids,it cointains a lot of chemical impurities such as chlorides,unreacted phospahates,flourides,p2o5,and traces of radio active elements,due to this setting time,strenght, and workability, is not achieved and high effected, even a very small % of impurities will effect the above mention properties, and there is a high chances of detoreating coslty paints, it is harmfull for hands, and also emmits acidic smell. |

The most widely used method of fixing cracks in a platered wall is to "V" out the cracks, with a v shape tool, fill gypsum filler compound inside the groove , and allow it to set for a day, and then after drying, brush it with a sand paper around the joints to clean the surface. |
